BUT YOU WANT TO BE ASSEMBLED, A PRINT FROM A BOX

Hello! please be nice to give me the STL with the whole violin

In the summary, you can find the original files that may still be combined.

I am not able to load either the bottom or top? I get "xxxxx.stl failed to load". Has anyone else tried them lately?

Thanks!

I've used these files and re-uploaded them to 4/4 size. I don't think the original uploader is active on thingiverse anymore.

When first loading it into Cura, the print was ridiculously tiny. Will Definitely need to scale up, but can't wait to try it!

How big was your print bed?

I'm currently making this in a 200 mm cubic space. I had to cut some pieces and weld them together.

So are you going to make a playable version? I have always wanted a violin yet they are so very expensive. Also, I would rather not make an electric violin, I feel that electric is kinda pointless. Because then you have to have an amp to get any sound and it is just stupid, because an instrument is meant to make sound on its own.

I'm making this. When I finish, I'll make a video. My expectations are that it will play, but it will sound... like a plastic violin. If you want a cheap violin, you can buy some really cheap ones online. Honestly, if someone paid me to 3D print them a violin, I'd probably charge like $200 for the labor involved. Even then, it wont sound as good as a cheaply made $200 violin.

Have you made a video? I'd love to see it!

You didn't include the bottom part.

Sorry guys, I have added the bottom now.

Did anyone ever post a location for the bottom of the violin?

Sorry, I have added the bottom now.

The violin in this state is not playable. I can pluck the strings and make a sound, but you would need to add real violin strings and strengthen some connections to be able to hold the tension (i.e. the tailpiece end pin is just glued to the outside). I printed this at 30%, except for the back, front and side pieces of the body and the pegs which were all 100%. There is no sound post, but that wouldn't be hard to make. You insert it after the violin has been built using a special technique. There is also no bass bar in this model, but wouldn't be hard to make.

I would like to make a playable one when I get some nylon which is much stronger.

i looked at the design and i didnt find any sound post.
not really that playable...

maybe you can add a sound post before closing the violin

Is this playable at all? I would think abs string won't hold up to tightening. Nylon filament might do the trick.
What size is this, maybe a 1/16?

Please record a sample and upload here so we can listen to the sound :)
