Sorry for the delay.
I don't remember well but I think the relay and the proxy abosorb very low current...
something like 0.5A together I think.
If you want something better you shoul have another relay to turn on the sensor only during the autobed procedure.

You loose some precession when using a relay as it does not switch instantly. Personally I use an optocoupler because the voltage divider was to risky for me with my Smoothieboard.

Yeah I know that it's not 100% precise.
But for my application it works fine.
And to gain precision i think I could always decrease the z-axis speed.

Yes I could, but I didn't want to use a volta divider.
I don't like very much that solution. I like the relay solution more. Yeah I know that a relay is generally more expensive than the voltage divider, but I find it more simple in my opinion.
