Printed with the BCN3D Sigma R17, an independent dual extruder machine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uo9wGzFq-uI

The Hollow Draudi is designed to be created on resin 3D printers mainly due to their empty geometry. In addition, all orifices, modeled with Rhinoceros and Grasshopper, give it a unique personality and a plus of difficulty that will challenge any 3D printer FFF.

Hi guys,

I print this without support, 0.15 layer height.
In around 49% printing, I saw my 3D printer print on air and caused filament unable stick with the bodies.

I using Cura 2.7 for the slice, is that any settings I need to take note?

Hope you resolved it but check your extrusion temp. If it is too low this problem may arise among other things.

Just printed the Draudi, very awesome well worth it. Failed my first attempt but once I had my printer better tuned it printed great.

I did it on my $160 open source build it yourself A8 Anet printer.

I like prints that have no supports like this one. I used everyday PLA with a cheap printer. Used .1mm and 100% infill no supports.

Took something like 19+ hours but worth it. Try it, if I can as a newbie and cheap printer so can you.

I didn't use support.

Understandable. Have a nice day

Congratulations on getting featured!!

Hello, i'm interesting to know the software used to design it (Blender? other?).

Rhinoceros + Grasshopper :)!

I don't know what software was used to design it, but it's a fairly simple design and could probably be done with Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or just about any other 3D modeler that can work with curved surfaces.

I scaled the object down to about 75% in size.
My girl uses it to hold her glasses. The nose piece of glasses sits perfectly on the back of the head, neck area. Looks good too.
I printed using ABS on a prusa i3 clone.

Whats printer is that?

Being a traditional CAD guy, I'd love to know how this was created/modeled?

It's a very cool file.

I agree he did an awesome job, love to know how he did it.

I'd like to know the same thing did the maker come in contact with you?

This file is able to crash Repeiter, so I can not print it! Dang with a capital D.

My UP Box will not print correctly as there are some errors in the file that cannot be repaired. Has anyone else noticed this?

I'm confused. The description says "designed to be created on resin 3D printers", but the time lapse shows it being printed on an FDM printer.

it doesnt mean that it cant be printed by fdm printers.

How long does it take to print?

Mine took less than 4 hours on my A8. .2 layer height, 0 infill, 20mm rim supports 40mm speed with ABS. It printed but will require some clean up :)

On my Flashforge Creator Pro, printing at a size of 178x135x71, using PLA and .1 layer height resolution, 25% infill, no raft or supports, took a total of about 11 Hours to print. Came out great, too.

This is a very nice design. "easy" tp print as well ;)

Would you upload videos, How to create this kind of Designs?

Is it ok to make a Youtube Video of this print?

yess, the company that says fu to interested resellers if they don't agree to a videochat.

I cannot wait to receive this 3D printer that I won on Cults3d.com 3D printing competition!!!!

would you look at that, its a croc croc

a bit old as commercial.....

I guess a nice little backhander ensures this sort of thing is posted on the featured section.....

Great model... what were your print settings?

Hi! Thanks!

50 microns layer height, 0,3mm nozzle size, Colorfila PLA, 24 hours print, no supports.

in the end you can see print time 24 hours. so they are definitly printing slow

115g of filament, 280x195 mm build area. It's not a small print. They're also printing it around .1 or .05mm layer height, that's a super smooth print.
