Hi, have actually made two, after removing the ABP and going to the HBP I had to move the endstop down, which necessitated changing the mesh to have a much longer arm. I made it longer than it really needed to be but its much easier to cut a little off than to put a little more on!

Actually learnt a bit about meshes and the manipulation thereof with rhino while doing this.

This worked so well that I designed another version that works on other axes. I also included the Sketchup file, so it is easy to modify.

Thanks for a great idea and design.

Endstop Trigger, any axis

It works great for the upper endstop, but the lower one needs a longer stem to reach it. Otherwise the extruder crashes into the build plate long before reaching the endstop.

I just printed a couple of these and they don't seem to trigger the end-stops. I can trigger the stops with a Popsicle stick, but not with these end-stops. Anyone else had this happen?

Did you use black ABS?
As far as I know, white ABS (and other plastic like PLA) let too much light pass. You might want to try to paint the object or wrap it into something like aluminum foil.
If you're using black ABS, make sure your fill settings are ok. Any "holes" in the fill might spoil it...
