How many Chain Links are there in the Bracelet?

I made one today and it needed some polishing of the lock mechanism, but it works well. Used a Replicator 2 on standard mode.

Made one on Ultimaker at 0.06 layer height in Ultimaker White PLA at 50mm/s and 0% infill. Very beautiful print!!!

Unfortunately, the clasp is a bit too brittle so it doesn't hold together too well. I used a lighter to melt the female end together a bit but not perfect. A different design of the clasp perhaps?

Wow, that's precise!

Yeah, the clasp is pretty tightly optimized for ABS. I haven't tried it in PLA. I suspect that the design can be changed by making the "tongue" thicker, and making the lateral "springs" a little thinner.

Skeinforge chokes right after the Jitter plugin... resulting in no export.
tried different infill levels... .27mm layer height and 2 shells.
????

does the female end of the clasp print ok with all that overhang?

Yeah, the female end prints fine. It bridges from side to side easily. The male end has support built in to the design, and needs to be cleaned up. I had more problems with that.

Love the modifications to the links!

I have a customized bracelet - very similar to this one - out there as well... very very similar, minus new links, plus customizer and dualstrusion: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:58419http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

At some point with a bit of time, would love to build your links and clasp into that design - feel free to riff on my customizer-read scad in the meantime :)

Customizable Chainlink Bracelet

That looks great! Would love to combine the two designs. I find the double height links work really well. Did you see that I stuck some code for dualstrusion in my model as well?

How much time does it cost?

This is a great solution to the chainmail buckling issue which I've come across as well. Interesting ideas - thanks for sharing! Might have to try some chainmail designs again soon...

GP, I love what you did with this... I'm curious what machine you printed it with though? I ask because the file is too large in the x axis to fit on a 130mm print bed... Was awesome playing with this at Makerfair btw.

A Replicator 1. Should print on a Rep2 as well.
