Thanks for the design!

Printing the second one now without screw holes and less tightness and adjusted length and overall size for my door.

Hi Lermon2008, Thank you for the feedback.

If you haven't found a remix that works well yet, the "Door_Stopv2.scad" thing file is a parametric design file for OpenSCAD (a free scripted CAD package). You only need to edit the "Offset_Strut_Length" at the top of the file to make it fit for you. It is set to 10mm by default and sets both sides at the same time giving 20mm overall offset. All you need do is adjust this value to suit then re-export from OpenSCAD as an STL file for 3D printing which should be as simple as pressing 'F6' to regenerate the model with the changed values and then File->Export.

Depending on how long you make the strut, you may also need to adjust the "translate" value to move the two parts apart like RapApaR did below.

Let me know if you need me to help further.

I printed this and the way it interlocks seems flawless but it is too small, it is shorter than my door knob so it will not work. I'm going to try one of the remixes that is longer...

Hi, I used 3mm x 15mm counter sunk wood screws to screw into both the door and the skirting board.

All I'd say is be careful if using counter sunk screws as tightening them up has a habit of splitting the layers if done too tightly.

Which screws did you use on the door and the wall? I am curious because I have the door catch design but not the right screws. Great design btw!

it is again better with longer shaft than with my extention mod
I also updated translate([20, 100, 0]) in // Main Call

Thank you for the positive reviews, it's great to see others using and improving the door catch.

An alternative to the modification is to download the OpenSCAD file provided and modify the "Offset_Strut_Length". By default it's set to 10mm on both sides, but simply update this to say 15 or 20 and you will have more room between the wall and door for larger door handles.

Hope this helps.

it works nice I printed 3 for my house, thanks

I have added an extention if door is too fr from wall
