A little bit more about the process. Hollie had a plaster cast made of both her hands. The original white cast isn't very good for scanning so I added a layer of light grey paint to it, so help bring out the contrast. I then added a very watered down black paint which collected in all the grooves of the model. I then took about 50+ images of both casts and used Agisoft photoscan to make the 3D models.

What you see in the video are the scans meshed and textured in photoscan. The rendering is then done in Blender Cycles.
