I printed one of these a month ago but the ring end up welded to the wand. Now that I have a bit more experience in printing I have noticed that even I enable supports in my slicer (Cura), the first layer of the wand is printing in the air (check screenshot). Could that be the reason? I am almost sure that a big drop of plastic forms in the nozzle tip and sticks in the top/bottom of the ring. I think I am going to try slicing it in another software but it's a pity having to install and configure another slicer just for one model :(

This is the first thing I've made in my classroom with a rotating part - or any moving part for that part!! I can't wait to learn how to design things and teach students the fundamentals - and watch where they go!!

My third print on my new printer and it was perfect, so fun, can't wait to "deconstruct" the spinning part as it come in handy for some classroom demonstrations.

I made one on Tinkercad just look for Elle Melin

Printed surprisingly well! I was surprised that it could rotate in a single print! Great job!

this one is so cool!! How did you make it so it could rotate???

Whoa! I've seen many of these but none of them can rotate, which is why this one in particular is awesome!!

Here you can find the same one in stainless steel;-)

I printed this with Hatchbox PLA on a Lulzbot Mini and it seems that the ring seizes and wont spin. What could be the issue? I have noticed other prints that have moving parts also never work for me. Thanks

This works brilliantly - it spins so nicely. I have had a lot of requests to print more.

turned out perfect on my ffcp!!! also it was my first print ever!!!

This looks really neat thankyou, I'll print one later

You know, that...that looks.......familiar... Very familiar...[long, uncomfortable silence...]

Hey! I have a METAL keychain just like that from Harry Potter World in Orlando, Florida!

The maker of this actually based it off the ones in the book

My son loves these! He is giving them to his Harry Potter book club as book marks. We used supports and ABS at 240/110 with no issues. Thank you for the print - Great design!

This is not the Illuminati you uncultured swine.

i love it!!! i printed one of, painted it, and putit on a tread to hang in my car mirror. and my freinds loved it today i am printing of another 3 thanks for the print

Looks great, and it appears to work well too! I printed it with rafts and it worked as well.

This thing printed perfectly!
PrintrBot Simple Metsl using rsilvers' settings and had Slic3r auto generate supports. Spins like it has a bearing.
Only suggestion would be to increase the size of the chain hole a bit. It's pretty tight.
Very impressed!!

Terrific job! This printed well on a Printrbot 2014 with default settings. Thanks for posting it. Big hit with my kid.
