It works really well, but the hook part didn't fit very well. The barbs were nearly impossible to get through the bearing (which I'm sure is intentional). After I got it in though one of the legs snapped. I guess I over-stressed it while cramming it through. I had shaved the barbs down a little and it still bearly fit. I mangled the second one worse, but it hasn't broken... yet.

The locker also didn't print well on my setup, so I didn't use it. There is no way that thing is going to come out (whole) anyway.

Hopefully the whole lot doesn't crash down in the middle of a print...

To get the legs through the bearing easier, stick it on a hot plate at approx 40C for a few seconds so it softens, then quickly bend and insert. ABS never snapped on me, but i had a PLA prints hook snap.

The forces experienced from hanging and bending to get into the bearing are different. I don't expect it will break while hanging.

Thanks NopHead for this design. Its been used across the globe! So cool.

Totally making this! i have had problems with twisting forever!

I made one but managed to break it when I was putting it together. The legs on the eye hook broke. :(

I still need some more tweaking on the skeinforge settings

Did it delaminate or break in some other way?

Amazing Work. I was looking at it thinking "Humm... what bearing does this need, a skate bearing would be perfe..." and then sure enough. Keep up the great work!

i gotta say, this is pretty awesome!

Really - is this the rotating basket that wont tangle?

Yes the machine pulls the plastic from the hole in the middle. That pulls coils from the centre of the basket and the basket rotates to prevent the filament from twisting. Sometime the extruder likes to rotate the filament and the basket rotates to accommodate that as well.
