GFDL(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GFDL)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... isnt exactly public domain, it is like the GPL, but for documentation. Wikipedia is mostly GFDL. Basically you can publish it under some conditions like 'you have to also provide source'(the preferred format of editing), and 'you have to use the GFDL when distributing further.

Frankly reading the TOS http://www.thingiverse.com/legalhttp://www.thingiverse.com/leg..., taking GPL, and re-uploading it(modified or not) is in violation of the GPL because you basically have to give them all rights, which the GPL does not allow. Section 3.1 is clear on giving those licenses, and section 3.2 clearly states the secondary license applies to others, and is additional.

In the future i intend to just say here are my thingtracker(http://thingtracker.net/)http://thingtracker.net/) files, i host the files on this site, websites are free to republish them on their list thingies within the license(and only the license) I give them.(Avoiding all issue with TOS) I will make a bit of a public statement of it and make some little tool to help make people make those thingtracker files. I am not yet ready to do this, and additionally there is the issue of still getting feedback.

I heartily recommend using a drill press if you have one. You can often find an inexpensive "Pipe vice" that fits to the drill stand and those hold the drill bits very well indeed. I can do barrels faster on this setup than I can on a proper lathe.

I'm confused about the section starting at "Illustration 8Aligning nichrome with the 1mm hole". What's the point on this step, is it to clean the inside hole?

It's a way of making the nozzle hole, using solder to fill in a larger hole and a piece of wire to get the nozzle the right size. It's much easier to drill it the right size, though you need some very small drills. The page is also pretty old; last modified 8 July 2005.

There are better designs for the hot end now, see http://www.reprap.org/wiki/Category:Hot_Endhttp://www.reprap.org/wiki/Cat...

This page is really just to show people how to drill accurate holes using basic tools; the linked page is talking about the whole process of making a nozzle.

I suppose you could just ask him if he minds if you post his pics:

He doesn't mind: :)

Thank you... er... I mean, him!

:-[ Done! I await his reply...
