Nice Design. Ive build my own Printer and used ballscrews to move the buildplate which is very noisy. Now ive changed to belt-driven and needed a mount to connect the belt together and to the buildplate. Ive modified your design to change the holes. The stl is very clean and it was easy to convert it to step with freecad and import it to fusion 360 to change the holes. big thanks to you!

hi, what is the distance from the bed plate to the actual belt fastening point. asking because i want it to be as linear as possible. i measured on my printer that it needs to be about 13mm from the bed to the belt to get it perfectly linear.

this thing requires very thin layes for better adhesion between layers. if you do not print like that, ABS wont stand the tension. lessons learned.

Is this intended to work with the mk2 as well? Just installed it on mine and believe it's colliding with the front and back endstops.

CORDIAL SALUDO

is this compatible with the anet a8

I've looked the Anet a8 design and I don't think so. The holes aren't the same spacing.

Could you provide the CAD?

Sorry, don't have any. I used 123D Design. It's free

WORKS AWESOME ON THE FOLGERTECH 2020 I3....

LOVE IT!!

Glad you like it. :)

Wonder if this will work for the Wanhao i3???Anyone? If not Id love to see this for it!

Hmmm, not such. I've seen pictures of the Wanhao i3 but it looks like a lot of the design is steel.

Simplicity and excellent design. It is so much better to conect one end of the belt to the carriage, the other end to the removable part, then just plug in and tighten a screw. Thank you.

Hello PROFHARRIS I hope you are well, I want to consult something that measures the piece. in MM ??? Adjustable strap support for GT2 and T2.5 ?? I DO NOT HAVE 3D PRINTER AND I WANT TO SEND THIS PIECE WHY YOU CAN SAY THE MEASURES IN MM. BEST REGARD

Just installed one in my i3, really nice upgrade from the silly y-idler with a screw through it from the i3 rework, didn't like that setup, split on me the first time I adjusted it and had to put zipties around it to keep it from breaking (I printed a version sans adjustment, just a round hole), only real suggestion for an improvement I could make is perhaps swapping the M3 screw to a M4 screw (easy for me to change myself and I have for my spares bin), a bit hard to find long enough M3s to get much adjustment range, with the longest I found easily in stores nearby I get about 5mm~ of tensioning range.

Really like that belt holder setup, much nicer than the silly toothed plastic and zipties version.

Hi! I really like your way of attaching the belt (been using your X carriage for a while now with great success). Any chance of uploading a non-adjustable version for those of us still using the tensioner in the front? I believe that would make the part even simpler and more solid. Thanks anyway.

Yeah sure, give me a day or so and I'll have it up for you.

Thanks, looking forward to it!

Great design, I've been looking for a better adjustment for the Y belt and this is the best I've seen so far. What did you do to replace the old Y-Idler? Just a quick part to hold a bearing? Do you have that file as well?

I used the original Prusa i3 Y-idler from GitHub. The one that came with the i3 Rework had a bolt sticking out of it that was kind of ugly. So customize my printer a bit, most of it is the i3 Rework. You can go here if you want to use the original y-idler. It's a SCAD format though.
