Is there any way you could edit this to work with a 12mm proximity sensor? It would be great if you could. Here's the one I'm talking about: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LJ12A3-4-Z-BX-Inductive-Proximity-Sensor-Switch-NPN-DC6-36V-3D-Printer-CNC-/261823325802?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cf5e2e66a. Thanks.

Hello!
Can you post .scad file?
I need to change hole for screw to 90 degrees for long screw.

Sorry, I use FreeCAD to draw this, not OpenSCAD.

May be, you can share FreeCAD file? No problem for me, to use it.

Dear gingko :

Hello , what do you using effector .

Thanks .

My effector is a metal part, it is a modification of the standard kossel effector. And it does not need nuts to lock the screws for the push rods. Thus, there is more space to place the sensor. The design of the effector has a M3 screw hole on the side, so I can use that screw hole to mount my proximity sensor holder.

Can you please provide a link to the specific sensor you are using and where it was sourced from?

Are you setting the bottom of the sensor parallel with the extrusion nozzle or is it slightly higher so it can't impact the part while printing?

Inductive Proximity Sensor: LJ8A3-2-Z/BX
NPN NO,3-wire,diameter 8mm
Detection Distance: 2mm

Yup, the sensor is slightly higher than the extrusion nozzle. I uploaded a new photo to show it.

Excellent, that's exactly the info I needed. Just ordered a few of eBay. Thank you for answering with perfect detail. :-)
