I wonder if you could improve the landing gear by making it out of a flexible filament. I have been playing with polyurethane (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:93148)http://www.thingiverse.com/thi... and I think it might make great rubber landing gear which could withstand the impact and even cushion it to help protect the craft.

Just an idea. And Love your design =D.

Printing in Polyurethane Rubber using Fenner Drives' Eagle Orange

I like the idea of printing a flexible landing gear. Unfortunately the quadcopter does not always crash on its landing gear. Last saturday it lost a propeller in flight and the quadcopter rammed motor first into the ground.
Flexible prints might actually be very useful for vibration insulation. After attaching a camera to this quadcopter I had a really hard time getting rid of the rolling shutter effect. I tried almost everything except for a 3d printed motor mount made of flexible plastic.

That's another excellent idea. Have been playing with this printable rubber for a bit now, but haven't had too many really good ideas for what to use it for. The camera mount and shock absorbers would be excellent uses for it. Let me know if you do design either and want me to give it a try printing them if you can't.

For now I solved the problem by using alpha gel pads. But I might consider designing another camera mount that could be printed.

Awesome foldable design. I never seen one like this great idea and great build.
