Nice! I used this to create name tags for items in my workshop.

Thanks for the feedback!
Only if you have time - you could upload a picture of the prints using "post a make". - I'm interested what uses and ideas others have

I uploaded some pics, thanks for sharing your work.

Thanks for uploading the picture! I saw them - very nice

I've used this in the past successfully but today I tried again and when I change the Font, nothing happens. I can't get to the font I want. Did something change with the customizer?

I think Thingiverse has some issues with the Customizer from time to time, yes.

hi, I really like the name plate! ive used it a few times already, howevr its not letting me use it anymore? in the customizer after I hit the create button, it fails in the queue... any suggestions?

It works for me just now.
Sometimes i think Thingiverses customizer is simply overloaded. So if you try again later it probably works.

Ok thanks, i will try again tonight.

Thank you for this awesome name plate. It works amazing for me with one glitch. I am unable to change the font. Any suggestions?

Hi, you can use it with OpenSCAD or with the customizer.
If you used the customizer, check if at the end of the customizer page is a red error message "We're sorry, but something went wrong.". This sometimes occurs and then you need to reload the page and re-do your settings.
If you use OpenSCAD, note that you need to have the fonts installed to use them. For an overview please refer: http://www.google.com/fonts

First, thanks for this. I've been making name plates for my grandkids. I'm having a problem so am looking for suggestions for getting the font to change, I change the fontname setting and nothing seems to change. I've those the list in the script and also tried those that are listed in the openscad font library. Not sure what i am doing wrong.

As i wrote above also, you can use the OpenSCAD file with OpenSCAD on your PC or with the thingiverse customizer.

If you used the customizer, check if at the end of the customizer page is a red error message "We're sorry, but something went wrong.". This sometimes occurs and then you need to reload the page and re-do your settings. It wasnt working for me just now as well :(. If you have a specific font you would like to have, you could modify the SCAD file yourself (with new text and font) and upload it here as well. Or i could upload it for you, if you promise to send me a nice picture of whatever you printed ;-).

If you use OpenSCAD, note that you need to have the fonts installed to use them. For an overview please refer: http://www.google.com/fonts and download and install all the fonts you want to use. Then restart OpenSCAD so the new fonts are available.

Thanks makkuro for this very useful customized name plate.

Well done!

Thanks for the feedback! I am glad you like it. Maybe you could show a pic of your print?

No se pueden poner numeros, solo admite letras.

This is a really great design with awesome customizable features. One way this design could improve is to have the option to add a separate hole one the side so that it could be a key chain. Thxs

Hi, first of all thank you for your work and for sharing. I have a question for you. I use OpenSCAD to customize a word and gives me error "WARNING: Ignoring unknown module 'text'." and not compile the word, just a solid rectangle.
Thxs

'Text' is a new feature. If you want to use this script with OpenSCAD, you need to install the latest Version 2015.3 http://www.openscad.org/.
