We finally got around to installing one for our flood coolant on our Mill, and it's great. The nice thing is you don't have to constantly adjust the nozzle between tool changes, because you can use it to spray a vertical stream for varying tool lengths.

Thanks, I know not everyone uses the same programs, so when possible I like to include "universal" CAD file formats.

Great work on adding the 3d files as well so we can adjust the part to our own needs :D

worked great thanks alot.. actually quieted my mill down from pure open air.

Great news, thanks for giving it a try!

Since your STLs are named sldprt.stl I assume you made the part in SolidWorks? Would you mind sharing the original sldprt-files? I would like to mod the inlet part for an air coupling instead. I tried with the igs, but it is not really compatible to mod. I could copy it myself but that is quite a large job.
If you share them, I will be glad to upload the result here as a remix of your file :)

Air knife nozzle

I'd love to, but I'm a student, using a student license. Unless you are using a student license, you won't be able to open my .sldprt files. I can upload a different .step? type if you would like to try those!

Awesome, I'll start supplying .step files with my designs from now on. It's good to have that info, so thanks for testing!

Sorry, Im on a full license (legal!! =) It would be worth a try, so please do! =)

Version1.3 is now uploaded with 4-40 x .5 inch screw holes and spots for nuts. It has a mounting flange with a 1/4 inch hole, and is universal fit (same for both sides).

I didn't even consider that. I was planning on making a shop air retrofit to the Half Stepper, but it worked well enough I didn't bother. Next up will be air blow gun nozzles, and barbed fitting adapters. Maybe I should add a feature for mounting too?

A generic mounting option would be a great feature. (I just printed your air knife to use on my Shapeoko. Nice job!)

Another thought: You could make a version that has the same size holes for use with nuts (rather than tapping). The holes on the narrow end would just need a little more offset space for a nut. (I think then the 2 halves are mirror images ? only 1 stl.)

Glad you like it! Yeah, I can make one for use with trapped nuts. The outer holes are not identical, one side has holes for an 8-32 tap, one side has clearance holes for an 8-32 screw (STL 1, and STL 1.2). I was just trying to keep things low profile.

Should work great for 3D printers too!
