I love the design! Is there a reason you reversed the A & B button layout from the original bottom left, top right?

I did that so the PCB would fit. And I'm an idiot for not realizing what a strain it is on the hands, lol! I'm going to play around with the pocket pi and see what I can come up with.

I think you would have to remove the analog video and the audio jacks from your pi model B. Have you messed around in 123d Design yet? It's super easy to modify the model. When I get a chance I'll try and do a remix for the model b. The adafruit gameboy works great with the model b in case you don't want to wait for me, lol!

Sega's portable the Game Gear was laid out like this and yes it was more confortable to play. Fewer hand cramps or sore thumbs.

Yeah I had one when I was a kid. The Game Gear was also considerably bulkier than the GameBoy. I always wondered if Nintendo had a horizontal GameBoy prototype in some closet somewhere, lol!
