A value on line 189 is off, which makes the slot for the captive setscrew nut on gear 2 appear outside the workpiece.

Original script :

    translate([(gear2_shaft_outer_d)/2, 0, gear_h+gear_shaft_h-gear2_captive_nut_r-gear2_setscrew_offset]) 

My suggestion :

    translate([(gear2_shaft_outer_d)/3, 0, gear_h+gear_shaft_h-gear2_captive_nut_r-gear2_setscrew_offset]) 

I am creating a fidget kind of toy that uses 3 gears, but i don't know how to design them. Would it be ok if I published it with a downsized version of your large gear as a part if I gave a reference to you in the description?

I've got a feature request!

I want to make the stepper gear bigger than the second gear. However, when I make the stepper gear that big, it makes the whole gear that big, which means it'll waste a lot of material and I'll need a really long set screw. If you added an option to control the diameter of the non-geared part, that would be great.

Most slicer and CAD software will let you do this.

Does anybody know of an axle I can print that'll fit in the big gear? No idea how to design one by myself. I put in 10mm for the hole diameter.

I understand how you are using the tolerances, but can you elaborate on what the AT, ST, and TT labels stand for?

Where did you get the MCAD library? I picked up a copy from https://github.com/elmomhttps://github.com/elmom but I think something's wrong because the small gear isn't rendering with any teeth (see pic, rendered with CGAL, didn't generate any warnings)

I'm putting out a public call for help here... for my own reasons I'd like to modify this script so it can output a third gear, inverted and properly sized to fit around a planetary arrangement of the first two gears.

There's /no way/ I'll figure this one out on my own, so if anyone has the time, knowledge, and pity to do it...

I should take another tip from TheRuttmeister and have the small gear shaft grow to a larger size; that would give much more fit for the nut without having to change the gearing ratio... it will be done -- eventually. :) I'm on a mad path to a particular goal here.

The numbers in the .scad file are a bit off; the pictures you see here show that a bit. I need to increase the shaft sizes on both, and the captive nut size just a tad. A drill and a dremel made these prints perfectly useable though. Or almost; I'm a little worried about the room around that captive nut. We'll see.
