I have made several Tamiya TT-01 steering arms. Depending on the print orientation you will get a different strength. Basic experience:

  1. print as oriented in the photo with two hubs side by side - but that will not help too much the hub will fail in two ways: a). the arm will break - separating on the layers. b) the bearing mount will break from the rest of the hub - on layer separation.
  2. The part should be redesigned (build up the arm meat) so the arm and couple hub circumferences will be printed in one pass - as printing plastic has greatest strength in layers.
  3. if you want to mitigate the bearing socket separation problem - add 4 tunnels (placed in corners) aligned with the axle axis and insert there carbon fiber rods to reinforce the inter-layer adhesion. There is plenty of room between wheel rim and the hub so adding these features will not hurt.
