I tried this with MKOEM PLA filament at 40% infill. while the filament stayed securely in the completed clip, the clip snapped when it was attached to the reel. It may have been more of an issue with the filament I used than the design.

Very nice and simple. Works well. Sorry no pictures today.

Works great thanks! I just made mine 6mm thick instead of 3mm thick for a better hold:-)

This design fits perfectly, thank you for sharing!
Just a quick question: I saw that both stl files are "cut": there is a thin gap within the round shape, which is fused during printing. Is it wanted? What is the goal/purpose of this cut?
Thank you again :)

I love the design, I've printed a few of the shorter ones. My main complaint, like mentioned elsewhere, is that the filament tends to slip out. I'll try printing the larger one and see how that does.

These are some of the best clips I have printed for my spools. They are versatile to different spindles and they hold the filament well!

Cool clip, just made one since only have one spool ... yet!

I've printed a few with 20ù infill the first time.
That was not strong enough.
Redone it with 40% infill and they worked just perfect.
Thanks, bro!

This is for 1.75mm, correct?

Correct. I've printed a few of the short version, but I'd suggest using the longer one. Otherwise the filament tends to slip into the last "hole" which is just meant to support the flexibility (I think) and then it is too loose.

What a great idea!!!!!

Thank you, share a pic if you make some up ;)

Tried four other clips and they didn't work as well as this one.

Great clip, works well with a solid click and holds filament tight.

Thanks

Thanks, glad to hear that. I haven't had to use these much lately since Hatchbox finally stepped up their game and put holes on all sides of the spool for the filament to be slid through for storing, but I still do for some other random brands I have.

Works great! Thank you!

Finally a clip that works! Thanks!

Yep :P thanks. Don't forget to 'make' one ;)

Well done! This was the second thing I made after the Ultimaker Robot. Very functional! :-D

works perfectly the teeth are awesome definitely a need more than a want or just for fun print. Great job!

Thank's they really do work great :P I have an army of them
