When uploading to 3D Hubs for printing, should these be scales as metric (mm)?

DRO_bracket_01.stl is not rigid enough for accurate carriage position indication on my lathe. Printed in ABS with 50% infill, the DRO has approximately 0.010" backlash. To be clear, this is the backlash of the digital readout due to friction of the slide causing flexing of this bracket. Some further development appears to be necessary.

ABS is a flexible plastique, maybe you should try PLA, it is more rigid

Good point - PLA is more rigid, with a Young's modulus in the order of 2x that of ABS. This would cut the backlash in half (to around 0.005"), but still not be rigid enough to drive the backlash down to the less than the precision of the indicator. I solved the backlash problem by beefing up the bracket's mounting to the lathe (2 screws near the sides instead of 1 in the middle) and gluing the slide to the upper part of the bracket instead of the lower.

What length DRO did you use?

Z axis 12"
X axis 6"

These DRO, can be cut with hacksaw.
They are aluminum and are adjusted very quickly and easily.
