In case anyone makes my mistake and buys carbon fiber rod with an inner diameter of 4mm and a larger outer diameter (5.8mm), here's a couple of openscad scripts to bore a larger hole into these STL files. Just download the STL files, replace the path in my code to point to their locations on your system, and change the 'rod_diameter' variable to the size in milimeters of your rod. I'd have uploaded these as a remix and thingiverse customizer files, but the customizer doesn't support STL import.

foot_round_web_bigger_hole.scad:

module cylinder_outer(height,radius,fn){
fudge = 1/cos(180/fn);
cylinder(h=height,r=radius*fudge,$fn=fn);}

$rod_diameter = 5.8;

difference (){

import("path_to/objects/Quanum Nova Quadcopter Moon Lander Shoes/foot_round_web (repaired).stl");

cylinder_outer(100, $rod_diameter/2, 40);
};

nova_mount_1_bigger_hole.scad:

module cylinder_outer(height,radius,fn){
fudge = 1/cos(180/fn);
cylinder(h=height,r=radius*fudge,$fn=fn);}

$rod_diameter = 5.8;

difference (){

import("path_to/objects/Quanum Nova Quadcopter Moon Lander Shoes/nova_mount_1.stl");

translate([3,10,-5]) rotate([90,0,0]) cylinder_outer(100, $rod_diameter/2, 40);
};

Just got mine in. Amazingly simple solution, I called them my "landing gear amendments" They're perfect for any situation where I just want a little more stability without mounting my retractables, literally perfect, excellent design....
P.S. I have foam pads added to the stock gear for extra height (keeps my camera's safer) The 4mm carbon fiber rods are cut to a length of 140mm. I may order another set and cut some really short rods (30mm) for cameraless flights.
would you recommend CA glue or epoxy for a more permanent build?

Thanks for the feedback. If you print with ABS, CA will work great. The holes on mine were tight enough that they stick in pretty tightly.

Perfect, I cleaned up with a 5/32 (just passed it through actually) ,the 4mm's do fit very well I just know how I land sometimes so I thought CA or Gorilla but wasn't 100% on which. I am going to order a 2nd set and make 30mm shorty's also.
Thanks again, Happy flying

The STL files will not work on my machine. I get a Certificate Trust List error when I try to use the file. Is there any way around the CTL error?

Thanks

What are you using to open it? I'm using repetier. I also posted the sketchup files so you could just load them into sketchup and export them to STL (you would have to install the STL exporter).

Thanks! I used your attachment....http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:611702
