Do you happen to have the entire SF bay with coastline?

You can download it yourself via the terrain2stl link above.

pure awesomeness. I just need to try it!

It's awesome. Would you mind donating a copy to the San Mateo County Office of Education Braille Library so blind students here in the county could use it? Thanks -- gaybraille

That's a great idea: I actually have a prototype version that's the exact same, just the water isn't blue. I'd be happy to donate that. Contact me at warpcat@gmail.com and we can setup the specifics.

That's awesome love to see this kind of stuff.

Cool, I may be making one of the hills of Cincinnati. Thanks for detailing your process!
Playing around with the app a little bit, it seems that the hills are very steep...do you know if this app increases the Z-scale to make topography "pop" more?

It does exaggerate the height. I'm not sure by how much though. I was digging through the code on github and saw the value a while back, but I forgot what it was. For the bay it worked out just right. I captured Pikes Peak and it was almost comical ;)

great idea and beautiful with the acrylic mount. I so want to to do this now with the Seattle area.

Indeed, Seattle would be perfect for it. Look forward to seeing it ;)

Too bad it's only the South Bay. I'll be printing it anyways!

cuts off just before the part I want lol

lol, obviously "the bay" is much bigger. But that's as far as I got. Feel free to add to it :)

Oh and btw, I just started listening to your podcast not long ago, nice!

Thx... Chances are this will be a Thing of the week!
