Curious to know what settings people used to print this one. ie: internal support material? how did you stop the plastic sagging when printing the top layers?

Is this design valid for Mk6+? It looks like it, but I just want to see someone say they are using it for this extruder.

nice design, and also thanks for bringing up the issue to me about junk going down in the heat chamber!

however, i solved this with a much simpler solution, wrapping a pice of napkin-style paper around the filament which secures with a ziptie, catches all dust and is a much simpler solution not needing any prints and stuff :) :)

Yep - But really doesn't look trick or cool. I've got a funky bottle cap. That at least shows intent rather than a dirty hanky. LOL! ;)

I left the artefacts for the sponge support, and am using a "magic eraser" type sponge since I figure this will have fewer particles than a kitchen one. Also is it a bit more springy than a regular sponge. Just poked through it with a screwdriver to feed through filament.

Thanks! Does what it says on the label. A partially-filled bottom so the spongebits can't get pulled in would have made it 5 stars.

Good point. A bottom with a hole for the peace of mind.

So, I made a bottom - force fit with filament hole to match. See picture

In my case I could just leave the artefacts in. ;)

That's exactly what I did, actually, but it'd be nice if it was part of the plan. :)

Works for me. :) I was wondering if it could incorporate some of the M3 screws of the extruder to attach it more reliably. I.e. back right and front left.

Just for the record, I don't think it needs any more reliability. Several prints later and it hasn't shifted a bit.

Mine has been pulled off a few times when the filament did not feed straight from the top. Not that there's anything dangerous about that, but in that case the whole dust remover can be replaced with a small washer with a 3mm inner diameter that acts as a sponge stop. ;)

you can just drill a hole on either side of the device in the flanges and have pressure from screws.

Nice maybe we can adapt this to work with other extenders as well...
