Can it be printed by Makerbot?

It probably can easily be 3D printed on a MakerBot if the model is sliced into two or three parts. We will try to do that. If you want to divide the model, you can download the free basic version of netfabb Studio, where you can use the split mesh function.

Im sorry,Im rookie to that netfabb.May I ask where the split mesh function is?

Sure... no problem. :) Just do as follows.

  • Load the model in netfabb Studio

  • Select the model (turns green)

  • Press the red cross button to fix/heal/edit

  • Right-click on any part of the model and choose "Select this shell". All the triangles of this part are now selected (green)

  • Right-click again and choose "Extract selected triangles as part".

  • Continue to do so to dismantle the model.

If you just want to cut the model in strait plane slices you can do it as follows.

  • Select your model in the right model list window

  • Under the list window you can find the Cuts-area.

  • Slide any of the X, Y, Z sliders to place the cut plane

  • Press the "Execute cut" button

The Basic version of netfabb Studio has lots of cool and useful features. If you want to do more advanced operations you can get the Pro version.
