I print a lot of parts inside my house and leave a couple windows open for ventilation from the plastic melting vapor. Unfortunately, when it gets cold out, I don't want to open all my windows so I'm building a fume extraction system. This is a key element and it couldn't be more straightforward. I hook a vacuum hose to each side and can now quietly draw the fumes from my 3d printer out of my window. Let me know what you end up using it for.
This just barely fits in the Afinia/UP print bay, but it DOES fit. I secure the perf board down using the corner screws only. If you put the side screws in, the printing nozzle will hit them, you've been warned! Fortunately, my settings combined with the pitch of the collector don't require supports! So, if you print this face down it will print quicker and use minimal plastic.
