EDIT: I just added SVG files for a laser cut version as well if you have that ability, as well as a picture of one i just made today.
I modeled this off the expensive SMB-201 desktop cooler that has become available for Yaesu mobile transceivers. Mount the radio into this desktop cooler to convert it to a base with more cooling. The stock fan does ok but the radio will get hot with extended use.
Its made up of four main parts, top, bottom, and two sides. The feet are optional if you can't find tall enough rubber adhesive feet. I couldnt find extra tall ones so i made feet that get attached to the bottom and then stick the rubber feet on them to increase the height off the surface its sitting on for better airflow.
The switch is the standard push in latch type switch used in computer power supplies. I salvaged the power switch and the 80mm cooling fan from a dead ATX power supply. You don't need the fan grilles on the top and bottom but i added them for safety from little fingers getting in there.
The sides are assembled to the top and bottom with four #6 by 1/2" sheet metal screws on both sides. The fan can be attached with #8 by 1/2" sheet metal screws if you don't have eight of the PC fan screws.
ABS, standard settings on Makerbot Replicator.
