You are just cranking out the bits. I think this brings up some interesting questions within the thingiverse. Should we start making sub categories for components ? Do we need a programmatic interface for accessing the thingiverse ? Good work 'O masked one , keep it up.

If we tag our components right, normally they should be easy to find... same thing with a search on the description. Categories (in so far as they don't overlap, which may or may not be what you had in mind) can be overly rigid as a taxonomy.

Quite correct , taxonomies as useful as they are tend to become bloated and annoying. This may or may not be due to the use of latin names. I was thinking about functional tagging rather than descriptive.

Indeed! I actually just now remembered to tag this one. One helpful thing might be a tag-rating or even tags which can be edited by Thingiverse members.

As Thingiverse grows, and it has been growing pretty fast lately, it will almost certainly be necessary for us to change the rules a bit to adapt. When thingiverse has ten times as many things as it has now, it really won't be an option to just scroll through 'till you find something anymore.

Then I couldn't agree more! :-)
