the extra parts seem way bigger than the two halves. Even at 30% of init size. How should I get this down to the right proportions ?

Hi OhSnap.

You might want to look at the improved version:-

Spitfire Xiv improved files with propeller and stand

Can you please split the propeller spinner in order to print it as one piece. Whatever treatment i give to the printing bed i always get a slight curve that keeps the seem very visible in that area.

Hi Swod.

I realise what I did now, I mirrored it before converting to an STL, the exhausts were individual bodies, so they did not mirror.

It's fixed now.

Hi. I love this aircraft. I resized to fit my bed (.2) and rotated to lay flat from the .stl files. The left fueslage/wing came out great but the right side is missing the 6 exhaust ports? Any ideas? I read where it's just a flip of the other side so should mirror. Thanks.

The most beautiful wing on any aircraft!!! Thanks!

Made this, turned out pretty nice! I did notice that when I downloaded the .stl, I didn't get exhaust ports on the right side. Also, the gun barrels weren't useful.

Why aren't the rear fins included attached to the fuselage?

Great work, though. it's a beautiful model. I wish there was more planes available (mustangs, A10,

Hello grwilliams.

Hmm, I will have a look at the files and see what went wrong with the exhausts, one side is just a mirror of the other so there should be no difference.

As for the gun barrels, mine printed ok, but we're later snapped off by heavy handedness.

I originally printed the rear stabilizers as part of the fuselage, however, the overhang and thinness caused a mess. I wanted the model to be true to the drawing, so I made the choice to print them separately.

I couldn't find any real good scale models, so I made this one. Would love to have the time to do more, it just takes so long.

I did find a good A10 on here, needs splitting in half though to print as well as this one.

Thanks for the comments.

Hi Yellasing!

Love the model! But it looks like a hollow surface instead of a solid, which confounds Makerware and the other slicers Ive found. Any way to upload it as a solid? Or any suggestions on how I can convert it?

Hello rkennett.

Sorry for the late reply, I've been a bit busy for a while.

I sliced this model with Cura and had no difficulties. The STL is solid so I'm not sure what the issue is. Did you ever figure it out?

Very nice!

Can I ask where you got the model? Or is this something you modeled from drawings or plans?

Hello Yvan.

I made this model from 2d sketches found on the net.

I'm glad you like it.

Wow that is very impressive. The model is very detailed and looks like it would fly if the weight was correct.
