Since it's probably a vortex effect which does it, the kink might have to be larger for a smaller blade. Direction might be important too.

How have i change it to 1045? Just resizing or smth else?

Could you make some without the noise reducing element so someone could try both and see which one is better?

Everyone is printing these with support correct. I think im gonna print some out. I am printing some 8040's right now. Looks like these will come in handy

I printed a set of the 8 inch props and flew my quadcopter with them. The performance was comparable to commercial props and it did seem like the quad sounded less like an angry swarm of bees than with conventional propellors.

Hmmm, if you scale it you'll shrink the centre hole, I'll try and get a smaller pair up for you before the weekend.

For a diagnostic spectral sound comparison you need to design identical ones just without the arrow tips.

Owls can fly quietly because they have fuzzy edges on their feathers that break the wind up.

I'm pretty sure that A) the same sound issues that affect a helicopter don't affect a quad due to subsonic tip velocity and B) in the design these are supposed to actually be vibrated up and down by motors to break up vortices. If you notice the sound clips on that site the only sound that is decreased is the loud supersonic "clapping" sound that helicopters make, and that toy helicopters decidedly don't. That said these look awesome and if I had a quad I would totally try these out :)

Having said that, the tips on this blade should still make it more efficient, even if they do nothing for noise. You can read about swept rotor tips and other rotor tip designs here:
Bare minimum they'll make your quaddie look bad ass.

Not yet, I don't have access to a printer until next month. Rest assured when I do, I will put up videos and info on how well they work...If they work...

I do have a printer, a Replicator, but it is maxed out right now with projects I have been working on. I need another printer dammit... Anyway I plan on printing these soon and will let you know if you don't beat me too it first.
