I called Mantis to get a replacement yaw hinge and they told me that they had one left from the original production run. The price was $40USD. I searched around and found some on eBay for a ridiculous price and then found this version. I took a chance and had one printed according to the specs listed in the instructions. It arrived today and it was better than expected. It appears to be strengthened in all of the normally weak areas and in my opinion, that makes it better than the original. The fit was perfect and it functions flawlessly. Thank you for creating this model.

This is great, at work we have almost the same problem and the only proper solution would be replacing the entire broken part. Meaning that it requires the printing of the part you already designed. Because spare parts are hard to find and I'm not convinced that that would really solve the problem because replacement parts most likely will have the same design flaw(s) and eventually will suffer from the same problem. This much sturdier 3D printed version (hopefully) last much longer. Thank you for your efforts.

Kind regards, Jan

Yeah, with how many of the microscopes for sale have this same broken part, I'd say it's a design flaw, rather than abuse that breaks this piece.
I just noticed that I posted this model over a year ago... I'm happy to report that the bracket is still holding up perfectly with no noticeable signs of wear. I hope it works well for you too.
