My first print ever on a 3d printer today and its great thank you

I made one just now. Awesome. Thanks for your wonderful design.

Printed a set last night on my MakerGear M2. Came out fantastic. Great design with a good, readable relief. Currently printing three more sets to play around with on paint schemes and finishes.

These pieces are fantastic!!! Can you tell us about your finishing? What type of paint or process? Amazing!

I can and will :)

  1. Spray paint a primer coat with krylon spray paint for plastic ... or sometimes any will work. I like to use a light colour spray paint (like white or ivory) if I am painting bright colours on top.

  2. Paint colours with bottled acrylics. I like to use the deco art brand "patio" paints , as they are meant to withstand a degree of weather, and as a result the finish has a nice plastic smoothness. The great thing about this smoothness is that it takes the stain rubbing on and off well. I find the matte acrylics grab the stain too much and the solour sometimes peels off when you wipe the stain off.

  3. Use an acrylic stain from deco art brand or other. Sometimes you can get away with watered down brown paint. But they also have a medium that is meant to make any colour a stain. Paint on, wipe off. voila.

Thnx so much. I'm gonna try it tomorrow.

Fantastic model! Thanks so much!
