Which is manufactured Ribbon Cable Breakout Board with I2C EEPROM (AT24C256)?

all the design files are available here

but if you just want to download the gerber files, they are there.

once you have the gerber files you can just upload them to any pcb fab (e.g jlcpcb) to get it manufactured, order the parts (e.g lcsc) and just solder the EEPROM and headers/connectors on it yourself.

I'm curious about the breakout board. Is the EEPROM necessary? I saw the original breakout board on the darknode GitHub page which only had the plug connections. If I don't change the stock breakout board on the gantry, can I use darknode's "clean" breakout board with an SKR Pro?

you can use "FLASH_EEPROM_EMULATION" instead of the "I2C_EEPROM" but i personally do not like using the flash memory (where the firmware is stored) for eeprom. flash has a limited amount of read/write.

you can still use the board and just not solder the eeprom/capacitor/resistor on it (just solder the plugs/connectors). the one that i modified have thicker trace on the pcb and more info (silkscreen) on the board.

yes i am using it with the stock/oem gantry breakout board.

Thanks for the quick reply. I already ordered boards fabricated based on darknode's design, and your mount looks like a good option for integration. I have an SKR Pro and TFT35 v3.0 on order, so we'll see how things go.

yep, that's the reason why i did not change the size of the board. so that the mount made for them will work for either design.

Hey so what's the benefit of this upgrade, aren't you also losing the trinimatic steppers? I'm debating buying this printer and was just curious.

with the SKR board, you can put whatever stepper you want, stock board comes with trinamic TMC2208, i am using TMC2209 on the SKR board, so still trinamic , just a bit newer drivers.

SKR board are 32bit (instead of 8 bit), they are much faster, more memory both flash and ram.

the reason why i converted mine was because i wanted to enable more features, and there were no more memory left on the mega2560.
e.g UBL with a more refine mesh, Linear advance etc...

and to possibly try Klipper at a later stage. (on the stock board, the 2208 are not in UART mode, and does not support klipper)
