Turbine can be mirrored with opendscad:

mirror([0,0,1]) import("..path-to-file..\Turbine_2.stl");

Did not try though.

may be a lot of work ,but if you can make the top of the intake/cone convex on the inside to fit close to the turbine blades instead of straight wall, you'll get ideal compression /flow of air -just like a turbo charger/mini gas turbine- I'm hoping to use this to cool down RC jet gas turbines after shut down.

nice files, can you mirror the top an bottom OR the compressor blade file- one is backwards to the other- centrifugal compressor supposed to "sling " the air outward ,the housing exit needs to be opposite of the direction it is in the pics/files
should blow well when corrected

Looking at turbine cover_top, the air exit chamber looks closed. HOw can the air pass throught to exit?

Hi, Can you show me more detail on how you connected the 12v DC motor to the turbine? im using a 12v DC motor from an old air compressor and I cant understand how to connect it. thanks

Please take a look into part Motor_Gear_ConnectorSliced-_2 - this was special adapter between my motor and turbine. It should be printed twice, both parts should be tighten with a screwdriver around motor's wheel and installed inside turbine. That was my version. You can introduce your version of adapter especially for your motor (as it can be slightly different).

great design! I got a question, could I use this for a vacuum cleaner? Do I have to reverse the motor so it vacuums?
Kind regards

With current motor it has low power, but it is already makes vacuum on top of cone (no reverse needed). If you want to have really vacuum cleaner, you'll need to scale it up and use much more power motor.

how much diameter motor shaft ?

Motor diameter is 28 mm. It is motor from old Lexmark Z611 printer (generally motors are the same in all Z-series of Lexmark printers and probably many others). It is motor that moves printing head left-right. Motor was already with connector to printer, so I provided adapter for the motor shuft (generally I didn't removed printer connector from motor, so I don't know exaclty motor shaft diameter).

The impeller from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:209797http://www.thingiverse.com/thi... will work for this design, It allows you to use a standard hobby motor with a 2.25mm shaft.

Turbine Blower, housing, and motor electric motor mount.

Hi beautiful design. By any chance do you have the part number for the motor or more detail on the shaft size, length, etc. that would be required to bolt the turbine up to a motor.

I used motor from Lexmar Ink-jet printer (it is one that move printing head left-right). You can find such motors in Lexmark Z25 and similar and 510 series. I also think that in many other series of printers by this company motors are the same (many times they just change design without any changes inside and sell as new model).

I wanna see somebody try and perfect something like this for small-scale hydroelectric power. Build a small dam in a creek bed and stick one of these in it, and on one side put a valve that gets opened by a float-"swtich". Hook the turbine to a 12V battery and presto!

better off using a pelton wheel design in most cases for micro-hydro.

There is one here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16579http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

Exactly what I was thinking!

You might improve efficiency and reduce post-processing time if you replace that thin wall by thin stator vanes pointing into the direction of flow. It will make much more noise too, so it could double as a siren

But turning back the water meter???.

What are you using this for?

Together with http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:39745http://www.thingiverse.com/thi... I use it to wind off the water meter (http://i53.fastpic.ru/big/2012/1231/fb/948f519c99c7de15b650d5945f510efb.jpg)http://i53.fastpic.ru/big/2012..., but of course you can use it in any other application, couse it quate powerful for it's size.

Go Ferris Bueller! Just don't drop the jag!

Strange place, you uploaded the pictures to.. looks more like a porn page to me.. ;)
must be because its russian domain.. lol

can you use this turbine for water? since you hang it to a water meashure device on the pic..
i think the fan is actually a compressor for air isnt it?

Yes, it was done as compressor for air initially. Generally think you can use it for water also, if motor will be isolated enough from water flow.
