Hi, how large is the scanning circle/ how is the max x and y size for the objects?
How tall do the objects need to be?/ how is the minimum z heigth for the scanner to detect?

the maximum diameter for scan objects should be less than 400mm. You can also scan fixed objects if you can just lay the rails there. Depending on the object height and camera model, you should place the object on a correspondingly high base.

I am currently planning to build a headscanner as a table, and tough about using this because with 40 cm diameter it should fit around a head.

The idea is to build it on top of the table around a hole so somebody can stick his head trough and we can scan it.

interesting idea, if the person stays calm, it could work

why not use driver for motor ?

it is easier to switch gear motors by means of relays with raspberry pi. With stepper motors everything gets more complicated, but not better.
