My beautiful little Hoptimist, created on Fusion 360. Easy to make, just follow instructions.
I printed the head with 30% infill to lessen the weight on the printed spring and make it more bouncy.
The bottom was printed with 100% infill, to make it heavier, so it wouldn't bounce around with the head.
Here's the hardest part:
The spring was done with 100% infill. I did a lot of prototypes, but this was the best one I managed to make, although it is completely up to you how bouncy you want it:
- Insert the spring.stl into your slicer
- Go to scaling and start scaling the Z axis, and ONLY the Z axis. make sure you DO NOT have uniform scaling turned on.
- Put the Z axis to 30 or 40 mm (or more, again depending on your preferred bounciness :P)
- now you can either print it standing up and v e r y s l o w l y or turn it 90 degrees on its side and add supports (which is what I preferred)
Good luck and happy printing :)
