This is my first 3D print design. I couldn't find such mount out there so I created one.
If you have a steering wheel with Simucube 2 SQR system this is a mount design for your simracing rig. I was feed up leaving wheels around the room. With this mount you can simply hook the wheel on the rig frame or a wall.
It has two holes to fit on 8020 alu frame or a wall. I use 6mm thread round headed screws with hex socket. This fits perfect to t-nut inside the alu profile.
Design can be improved for sure but curently it fits the purpose. Pls comment or provide feedback so I can improve my designing skils for future :).
Edit: added v1 design with mounting side more slim, not rounded shape. Print with same settings mentioned below.
Generic PLA PLA
Steering wheels with adapter and quick release can get heavy. That's why I recommend to print with high % of infill.
My settings with Cura 4.2.1 and PLA material:
- 70% infill to get desired strength
- top and bottom thickness at least 1mm for added strength
- print speed 40mm/s
- all other settings default for Ender 3
Optional after print
If needed smooth off edges with a bit of high grit sanding. My few prints came off great without any sanding needed.
