The Expanding Box puzzle
This is my version of the Expanding Box puzzle.
This original idea comes from this book: https://johnrausch.com/PuzzlingWorld/chap12.htm#p1 .
I have added some tips to complete the cube, in the spirit of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3073646 .
This is a (quite difficult) coordinate-motion object with 6 identical pieces. In the words of Steward T. Coffin:
"It is more of an amusement than a puzzle."
The mechanism in action is here: https://youtu.be/vyYtZZor6h4.
This model is very easy to print. No support and a 0.2 precision already works very nicely. My version is the 40mm cube (with a 0.25mm gap), but I provided a 45mm cube as well. I you wish to make your own model, I provided a .scad file.
Pictures and comments are welcome.
