Update - v2 (8.13.2019)
As I tried this enclosure with different DHT11 shields, I found that the lid didn't fit some shields. I also had issues with some off-brand Wemos D1 Minis not fitting in the base. So I've increased the tolerance in the base and the lid to allow for some variance in manufacture. I recommend you use the v2 versions of the Base and Lid.
I also made a spacer to get the separation right when soldering the shield to the Wemos D1 Mini. The pictures show how to use it.
New files in this update:
- Solder Spacer
An enclosure for a DHT11 Shield mounted on a Wemos D1 Mini. The enclosure hides and protects the bare circuit boards, but leaves the sensor exposed to the air. It snaps together, requiring no fasteners. An optional pin for the reset button is provided. Without the pin, a paperclip can be used to reach the reset button on the Wemos.
There's some allowance for the spacing between the Wemos and the shield. The case is sized for a nominal dimension of 0.3 inches (7.6mm) from the bottom of the Wemos board to the top of the shield board. A tenth of an inch higher or lower should also work.
The lid is sized for the particular DHT11 shield that I have. There are a number of these available so it might not fit yours. Let me know if you'd like me to upload the Fusion 360 file so you can edit the lid dimensions yourself.
Update 8.13.2019 - There are now new versions that fit better. Use the v2 files for a looser fit.
