MakerBot Print is our newest print-prepration software, which supports native CAD files and STL assemblies,
allows you to interact with all your printers via the Cloud, and many other exciting new features.
This is a small fixture block, which is designed to be used with a fixture plate. They can be used to make any number of simple jigs and fixtures. I probably wouldn't use this to hold a part for machining, but it would be great for a drill press or assembly application.
This block is designed to fit my whole ecosystem of 3D printed fixtures:
The holes are spaced a half-inch apart. Most of the holes are clearance holes for a 1/4-20 SHCS, but two of the corners are a tight fit on a 1/4" dowel pin, which will allow you to index a precise location on the fixture plates, this is probably overkill for a 3D printed fixture but may come in handy. This project was inspired by the Saunders Machine Works fixture plates, if you need a fixture plate for machining, they are the best source.
