Any chance you can show me how to configure the probe for vanilla Marlin 2.0. I'm doing it for an Ender 3.

What size rod is this designed for?

Yes, I didn't mentioned . The hole is 2.5mm. I used a 2.4 mm rod but I enlarged a little the hole .

Could you please extent the flag by 2mm and then people can use the arms that already come with the servo and eliminate the ARM part from your design to make it simpler

can you fit v2 to use micro servo SG90.

with SG90, in v2 configuration, I couldn't obtain BLTouch height . For SG90 use first version https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3303618

I like your idea. We almost had the same thoughts! ;o)

And I like yours. We were more close than you think. I started with 2.5 grams micro servo but I was trying to find a more compact optical endstop.

A more compact optical endstop will be hard to find but have you ever though about a hall-sensor?
For example this one.
It operates down to 3V and it'll trigger the output as a magnet comes near and reset it as the magnet goes away - exactly what a endstop does.

I guess, this could be the smallest ever ;o)

BLTouch uses hall sensor. I have 2 BLTouch clones which I don't use anymore and I could use Hall sensors from them but probably I will obtain the same poor accuracy and a better quality components raise the price.

Can't say anything about the BLTouch. Never used one. I'm using Hall-sensor in the Smart Filament Buffer but those don't need to be very accurate. I guess... we'd need tiny, tiny optocouplers. If people who are reading this know some... tell us ;o)

Does it have same mounting holes as bltouch?

Yes, I used the exterior shape from your design and the servo position (In fact the servo is in the same way) being more compact. I cut off the servo's ears to shorten the height and have the same height as BL-Touch.

I've just noticed you made the remix. I haven't thought about cutting the arms. I guess if you go for sub micro servos - 2g for example then the footprint will be even smaller.

For sure, but also it would request a smaller optical switch.
