Hey man, printed this one and fully painted and detailed it. If you want a picture just let me know

hi, i always love to see pictures when people print my models. if you could post a picture that would be awesome!

What's the final size with your default scaling?

it was a little hard to accurately scale the design but by default it is somewhere close to 1:72.
according to the halo fan wiki a pelican is about 30.5 meters long, so scale accordingly

i think it works better in a larger size for FDM printers, nicksputnik has printed it at 1:61

Holy crap, this is incredible! You should really do the Reach/H2A Pelican too :D

what is the difference? i'm not that well known in the halo lore.
i just chose the one from halo 3 because it was the one with the best textures.

That would be really awesome! I would print that one too :D

Awesome model! How long did it take for you to make it? Did you do all the gaps between the plates by hand or did you use some other technique like texture displacement? Will definitely take and 3d print this model.

thanks! it took me a somewhere between 20 - 40 hours to make. i imported the 3D model from the game in to blender with textures. then i modeled the craft on top of it. its all hand work and a slow process but it gives the best result.

i made this with a resin printer in mind, so i don't know how well the detail comes out with a FDM printer
good luck with printing!

Cool, I will have to try that myself some day. Have been trying to "bake" the textures in to the mesh to get all of the details (the same technique I use to make lithophanes) but I have not been able to get that to work... yet. I will post the 3d printed results when I'm done printing all the parts and when I have managed to make everything fit together. It will probably take me atleast 5 days to print everything on my cr-10s.

Thank you for sharing this!

no problem.
are you gone try and make it?

Yes, ironically, I just finished printing all the parts to mine. I'll scale yours so it's compatible with my base and add a chin gun to it.
