where do you buy the springs?

I buy most my stuff from Ali Express and then cut it to lengths. I picked up pins from a local hobby shop but they are available there too.

Would it be possible to print the nose portion of this and use it with the handle from the original FR-1?

I don't see why not though you might need to do a bit of cutting around the hinge to make sure the break opens up fully and properly.

I have yet to print it, but I see an issue with the nose piece in Cura with a standard .4mm extruder nozzle. The top screw hole appears to have walls that are too thin and Cura shows they will not print. Did anyone who has completed that part have an issue with this? When I adjust it to .2mm, the walls will print. This could be a solution, but I hate changing nozzles.

Same issue here. I just went with it. I too hate changing nozzles.

I've given it a quick look and just wanted to ask if you've enabled "print thin walls" setting?

I have not. I've never messed with that setting before. Enabling that setting does make it so the walls will theoretically print. I'll give it a try when I get to that part and see what happens.

Probably don't.

Hey! I've printed it in Cura with no issues, however, I've used an older version. I'll look into it when I can and see what I can do. Until then, try increasing horizontal expansion on the part by a fraction of a millimeter and see how it slices.

I just finished the OG Viper for my soon to be 10 year olds birthday. I'll try to get a "Make" uploaded to Thingiverse. This could be a question for either this or the OG, but what about printing in PETG? You mentioned ABS for the motors. I can't do ABS since my printer is indoors but PETG is just fine.

You can try PETG but PLA+ will do just as well. Don't forget that this only applies for running Honeybadgers on 3s because they run very hot.
