i wanted an easy to print and robust strap for tethering plants to canes and stakes etc. I wanted one which could tighten on the cane and remain loose on the plant.
This thing is such a tie. Pass the tie round the cane and thread the tip through the first slot in the end and pull tight, then pass around the stem of the plant, through the second slot and pull as tight or loose as you want.
I printed it in TPU with 2 bottom layers and two top layers (0.25mm each) using S3D's concentric infill patterm which gives the tie great strength. 0.25 is quite thick for TPU but I printed at a maximum speed of 20 mm/s. It is only 1mm thick but seems virtually unbreakable, I'll have to wait and see how it holds up to outdoor conditions.

Printed with 4 layers of concentric infill using S3D onto a PET buildplate which seems to give a good level of adhesion. I print 8 at a ime which takes about an hour and a half, i haven't pushed the speed to see how fast it can go, at this speed (20 mm/s max) the printer doesn't seem to be working hard.
