Updated to Talon V2 08AUG2019 Release notes below.
Your keys are always nearby so I designed the TALON V2 to fit neatly on your key chain. Whether opening a package at the mailbox or in the field setting up camp, the always razor sharp TALON V2 is just a few seconds away.
Standard features include an integrated safety which prohibits the blade from unintentionally deploying, a key ring location, and a simple breakdown mechanism for quick and effortless blade changes.
I DO NOT recommend carrying this in your pockets; mine is home on a carabiner. Although the risk of the blade deploying unintentionally is very low, we all know accidents can happen. User assumes all risk and liability.
Improved versions are in the works!
V2 Release Notes:
- Occasionally the V1 Slide wouldn't hold the razor in place properly so I added a small lip to prevent the issue. The lip can be seen in the 3rd picture. When replacing the blade, you'll need to ensure the sharp edge sits below the lip.
- Added ergonomic contours which also aid in rigidity.
Recommended FDM/FFF Printing Settings:
Nozzle 240° C
Bed 90° C
.15mm Layer Height
100% Rectilinear Infill
60mm/s max printing speed
Print Orientation, Body: flat side down (see pic)
Print Orientation, Slide: logo side down (see pic).
No support needed if oriented as stated above.
- First layer height setting is key! Ensure the 'elephant foot' artifact is minimal otherwise the slide wont fit into the body.
- You may need to scale the body +1-3% to ensure the slide fits. Finely tuned printers shouldn't need any adjustments.
