It's been designed with OpenSCAD. I will include the SCAD file in the package, I'll do this soon when I have a minute. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

thanks good stuff. I have a few ZWO cameras as well... would it be possible for my to get the cad/design files? I'm trying to learn how to model and well steep curve. What program did you design these in? I think if I had some models I could modify them to the more unusual sizes that I often need. thanks

Uploaded the SCAD files, check thingy description for update 4 notes.

I printed two 2nd one in highest res and neither one will allow a 42mm thread connected to screw in? the printed pieces seem a little to small?

One last thing, this adapter have a 42mm male, and a 48mm female. In its current iteration, it does not accept 42mm filters, but 48mm ones.

Also after printing, my post processing involves filing a bit to remove some debris. With the backside of a sharp knife I cleanup up the threads slowly. Then I used my actual filter and gradually made my way into the threads going back and forth. Then at some point screwing becomes easy. When screwing the first times, the pressure from the filter shape can change slightly the diameter of the adapter. Then it was fine after a few times.

I had to print with 0.1mm layer, higher than that was too coarse. I was using "Fine Print" profile, but with slow speeds. I printed them with PETG material. What settings, printer and material are you using?
