I was thinking of adding 2 more Y 380mm for in the middle to add 2 Linear rails for Y Axis, Also add Linear rails for X and Y. this would make the Ultimate Anet A8 upgrade (until the Anet board is replaced then it isnt an A8 anymore :)

Sounds like a good plan but also increase the upgrade cost significantly. I tend to let it be as is for now so that it does not deviate away from the original Bear Upgrade.

Any plans to do this will linear rails?

Not at the moment. Maybe someone in the future can make and remix it. Thanks for asking though. :)

I'm in the process of building the AM8,. how does this compare in terms of stability?

I'm sure both will share the same stability and rigidity since it uses the same material (aluminium extrusion).

What's the X rod spacing? The 46mm on my AM8 is annoying me cos most prusa style carriages won't fit!

45mm. you're lucky!

awesome. I have the AM8 frame but I might convert to the bear portion for the X axis. I assume I'd need to print the z axis mounts as well to cater for the guide rod position?

I can't give you the exact answer as for now. I'm still tinkering. Stay tuned. I will definitely alert you when I came out with a solution. Thanks!
