Disassemble the Z Axis from your CNC Router
The Z axis appears to be fully assembled in some CNC ROUTER 3018 PRO kits.
This takes a little time to undo the screws holding the Z-Axis motor in place. Pay attention to the order of disassembly as you will need to reverse the process to re-assemble it.
Print: 52mm Spindle Holder V2.STL
Install the anti-backlash plate as shown using (2 or 4)x M3x8mm screws
Install 2x LM8SUU on each side of the spindle holder.
Note: you may need to press them in and install them from the plate side to make it easier to get them in.
Note: you can use Bearing Pusher.STL to remove the old bearings from the original spindle holder. Also, you an use the tool to help install the bearings into the new spindle holder.
Use pliers to press fit the nylock nuts in place
Install 2x M3x18mm screws and 2x M3 nylock nuts to hold the spindle in place.
Note: You must remove the spindle during the re-assembly of the Z and X axis.
Install the Anti-backlash by pressing the ears from the bottom plate, and top nut with the spring compressed. See the next image for a better view of how the nut should be installed inside the part.

Wire Tube Holder.STL and T-Nut V2.STL to hold vinyl tube
Screw in "Z-Axis Limit Stop Holder Top V1.STL" in place of the plastic spacer that came with the machine, add an M3 screw as a limit stop
Glue to the bottom of the X carriage, install an M3 screw as a limit stop. "Z-Axis Limit Stop Holder Bottom V1.STL"
Cut a slit lengthwise in the vinyl tubing. Attach it as seen in the image using zip ties.
Install Z-Axis_Limit_Knob_V1.STL on the bottom of the Z-Axis lead screw. Use M3x6mm screws and M3 nuts to set in place.
Wiring Limit Switches
Add mounting 4x corner mounting brackets "base mounting bracket.STL" to mount the router to the plywood or MDF base. (Mark and pre-drill the screw holes)
Mount the power supply on the right side of the router. (Pre-drill the screw holes)

The Z Axis will not hold the spindle in position when the Z motor is disabled.
adding this command requests that the Z motor be locked anytime the GRBL is on.
(The default seems to be $1=25 which disables the Z motor after 25 seconds, which depending on your program might cause your Z axis to sag)

In order to control the 500W spindle you will need to create the above circuit
Used an opti-isolator since I had one handy in my stock of parts.
