printing now it looks awesome but what size screw do i use or what is the best thing to use

I made one with 100% plastic
What you do is take 1.75mm filament and melt the ends to form little "end stops"

Worked great so I made 10 of these and sold them to friends. Thanks

Really Awesome!! I was wondering what size and type of screws you used. Thanks!

Awesome! One of the coolest things I've done with my work's replicator. Although even at 100% infill, it's still a bit light. I think I'm going to try extending the handles by 5 or 6mm, maybe that will help the arms swing around like my old knife. The v2 comb is awesome!

I am glad you like it! :)
I would be honored if you made a derivative :)

I use a replicator 2, but for some reason, the handles curl...do you know how to fix that? I really like this design. I've also tried using a raft

Try printing on blue painters tape. Or try Slic3r 0.9.8 and use the brim feature to fight curling. Best of luck!

thanks a lot :D

This is awesome. Simple, yet most fun object I've printed so far :)

I'm really glad you dig it :) I would love to see you post a picture of your butterfly-comb if you get the chance.

New V2 Comb blade added.  It is 1mm thicker making it nice and sturdy :)

The comb part is way too thin and flimsy. It should be at least twice as thick. Also, the pointed comb teeth (repaired one) are printed in two parts for whatever reason (could be slic3r) and that's just not a good thing for the teeth. Cool Thing though.

The deed is done friend.  Print the new V2 comb and see if that one works for you better.  It is 1mm thicker.  I printed one and uploaded a picture of it as well.  It is the one with the yellow handles.

I suppose I can make a thicker one :)

Not sure what to tell you bud. Mine print plenty thick and in one part. I use Slic3r 0.9.7. Happy printing :)

Wow! The butterfly-comb just got featured!  Exciting times :)

I am looking forward to seeing other folks printed butterfly-combs :)

I printed one and my Son recommends we make the teeth pointy or tapered because it can't get through his thick hair.

Maybe I can make a version with even pointier teeth ;)

That would be cool!  I'll click the "watch" button and keep an eye out.

I added two "experimental" pointy tooth combs :)

My bet is that the 2nd of the two experimental combs will be the best for thicker hair

Awesome :) Thingiverse seems to be having a problem loading pics right now.  I am really glad the new design worked out :)
