Any how much extra time does the battery provide?

It about doubles the time.

I haven't used aux batteries for anything, do you just hook it in right from the start and it extends the life, or do you have to wait until the main battery has run down? Thanks.

You can do it either way. I often plug in when needed. So, when it starts notifying me at about 15%, I plug it in and it charges until about 70%, and then the additional battery is drained.

Somebody is selling your design on Etsy.

I messages the person to link to this page and it was added in the Etsy summary. Since credit is given and I think that is a good idea (as long as someone can do it themselves), I added a link in the summary to Etsy.

Again, thank you!

I get that someone is selling his design but the creator does have the license to allow sellers to use his design, but you dont have to be a little snitch about it. You sound like a school kid tattling.

It is kind of "open source". That person should link to this page so that people can print their own if they can.

It is certainly a good all-in-one service, but it is nearly twice the price it would cost by doing it yourself. People should have options especially if someone else spend time on designing it. It is just fair and required by the license.

I appreciate the heads-up as we can make sure it stays "open source" and people can make use of it and are aware of it as per license.

Mmmh. I do not mind that the person is selling them as it is the creative commons license, but I do mind taking my photos and not even crediting me anywhere which is required per license. People should know that they can do it themselves and don't have to pay for it.

Thanks for flagging!

I plan to make the following changes:

  • Support the big Anker battery (as an extra STL)
  • Split the model in half to make it possible to disconnect the battery mount from the headset mount. That way, the mount can stay on when the Quest is being put into the official case (or any other more narrow case).
  • Extend the clip to make it easier to remove the mount
  • Rotate the spikes on the velcro by some degrees to increase friction

If you have any specific request, please comment below.

Oh that's great! all those changes are very welcome! also - what kind of bigger anker battery? can you share please..? the powercore mini 5,000 mAh ?

Also - for those interested here's pictures I took, seems to work great!:

Yes, it is the one you mentioned. (Anker PowerCore 5000 Portable Charger, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CU1EC6Y)

Thanks a lot! been waiting for this, can this be printed without support ? (using creality ender 3)

You probably can print it without support. Without support, there might be not a enough of a gap between the pressure points and the ring, and the battery might be difficult to insert and remove.

I haven't tried without support as it isn't a lot to begin with. Make sure to lay it flat so that support is only needed around the ring keeping the pressure tabs in place and inside the clip. Without support, it would probably be just fine.

This is what I need^^ Thank you. Btw would you consider make one that compatible with Anker 5000mAh? I think its 33mm in diameter.^^

Yes. I got the big one a few weeks back and plan to make that version as well.

Did you make the larger one yet? I am getting the Aukey 5000mah one (for the USB -C) and it is 30mm- close enough to the 33mm Anker. I was going to modify this version.
