Im looking at the true x and the mini and the frames look identical even the mounting patterns. The stl/dxf for the mini doesnt say its a mini either.. Is it the right frame or am I missing a subtle difference? Thanks

The difference is very subtile :) the Mini have mounting holes for motors having 6.6mm and 9mm mounting patterns (basically happymodel + 110x/120x motors). The one without the MINI indication is the classic frame with 9mm to 12mm motors mount.

Can you describe the antenna situation here, explain how it is configured etc. I know there is a guide on someone's facebook for 1/8 lamba trimming a certain Crossfire antenna but I don't have facebook. Perhaps you could post a short guide with mm lengths, which version of the Crossfire antenna is cut, and how the holes in the gatehunter ears come into play?

Here’s a good tutorial for building a crossfire antenna : https://intofpv.com/t-how-to-make-your-own-crossfire-rx-antenna

Just a few tips: we commonly use the normal antenna provided with the nano rx (the non immortal one).
You don’t need the passive element, you unsolder it from the antenna and use an antenna coax bit instead.

The lengths are quite simple to calculate, the formula is 300/frequency (868 or 915) which gives you the full length antenna you need in meters. For instance : 300/868 = 0,34 m. Each element of a full size antenna would be 34 cm long. So as I use a 1/16 wave lengt antenna my elements are 34cm/16 = 2,125 cm.

The calculation formula is the common ref one : length=c (speed of light in m/s)/lambda (frequency in Hz)

Perfect, thank you!

So, it looks like for users at 915MHz we would trim to 20.49mm for 1/16 wave length.

Sure, I can get the lengths and add them in the description. The canopy is not the gatehunter but the Pickle one with the crossfire ears. Just 2 holes and you bend and pass the antenna inside, just a holder

First of all a big THANKS for sharing your great designs! I'm currently working on both an original (mini) pickle and this 3" version. Not really a 3" in my case though: I had a 20x20 stack lying around and started this project with the mini style (love the deadcat frame), but I found that there's not enough prop clearance with a 100mm frame (the 65mm props hit the corners of the stack). Then I found this frame, and it's great! Unlike you say in your description, I can confirm it flies great with 2540 Hulkies and 1103 7800 (the same the KK ET100 and Flyegg 100 mount stock), I printed in Cura, in PLA (for now) and upped the thickness to 3.5mm (120% if I'm correct). So your drawing prototype is actually a great flyer :) I'll post a make as soon as it's finished. Thanks again for sharing and keep them coming!

Thanks for the feedback, i'm quite convinced this format is decent even on 1103 motors as well :)
